As requests for work comes in fairly often these days, it seemed prudent to get a standard cost sheet out for services, should anyone wish to consider the price of a request.

Firstly, some projects have to be work-shopped a bit before a true cost can be arrived at, and some aspects change in the process (for instance, metals for casting have gone up in price quite a lot since the recent tariff’s hit).

Secondly, some designs simply cannot be cast. Certain designs requiring metal require other techniques that I do not do, such as etching, tooling, milling, etc.

Thirdly, my specialty is period (medieval and sometimes colonial era) designs. Anything modern that is typically made by machines (Candle followers, special coins, etc) need to be ordered from a shop that can make the modern thing you want with..a machine.

Therefore, this page is probably geared more towards SCA people and the like, who are looking for some kind of event token, clothing decor, or small tool, etc.

With that in mind: Event Stewards looking for cheap tokens: please head to the Gyldenforge FB Group and make a request there. There are a number of folks who may be interested in practicing their art by volunteering time to make event tokens for you. There will of course be some kind of material fee, typically.

Basic Pricing

If I make the design as a master for sand or stone casting, the master design is $50.00. Add this to any below price in this case:

Pewter:

1. Nickel to Quarter sized, stone casting, silver infused MPK Pewter (covers carving, cleaning and polishing):
   • 1-10: $8.00 each
   • 11-200 $5 each
2. Same sized, sand-cast items:
   • 1-30: $15.00 ea
3. Larger pieces will need to be discussed and priced depending on the complexity. A personal badge, a replica pendant, etc: Cost can be anywhere from $20-$100 above the Master Design fee.

Brass or Bronze (regular yellow silicon, or period tin or zinc based):

1. Nickel to Quarter sized, sand-cast flat-ish item (covers carving, cleaning and polishing):
   • 1-10: $15.00 each
2. Larger than a Quarter (up to a Kennedy half dollar):
   • 1-10: 20.00 each.
3. Larger pieces will need to be discussed depending on the complexity. A personal badge, a replica pendant, etc: Cost can be anywhere from $20-$300 above the Master Design fee (Gotlandic Brooches for instance, would be in the higher range). Basically, expect the $50.00 design fee, a materials fee and a hourly fee (about $20/hr). Some items can be produced fairly quickly, while others may take days.

Silver or Gold

1. Same as for Brass/Bronze, but add the current rate for gold or silver.
